Hesztia (Hestia) – Mosaic

I made this nearly 20 m² tile mosaic mural called Hesztia (Hestia) in the framework of the 2014 Színes Város (Colorful City) / Strongbow Festival, and it decorates the exterior wall of a Budapest ruin bar at 40 Dob Street.

At the links below you can also find two short films: the demo film of the festival, and a film made by Nikol Cibulya, which was inspired by my Hestia mosaic.

Lánchíd mozaik
”Chain Bridge” mosaic

I made this glass mosaic panorama picture for a private client in 2015, to decorate the concrete railing leading to his front door in a Budapest apartment house. The mosaic represents the Budapest skyline with the Chain Bridge in the center.

The Fourth Day of Genesis – Glass mosaic cupola decoration

In 2014, I completed the decoration of one of the cupolas of the newly opened Buda Entertainment & Gastro Center, as part of the art project called “The Seven Days of Creation”. Of the seven days/cupolas, I represented the Fourth Day and the creation of the heavenly bodies on a more than 50 m² surface – with the sun, moon and stars made of glass mosaics against a painted light blue six-pointed star symbolizing God.

”Apple and apple tree” mosaics

I made these two mosaics on the wall of a shed in our garden, in memory of two beautiful apple trees that used to stand there, but then grew old and dried out.

Interior decoration of Pastrami restaurant

I made these large wall posters recalling the style of the 1950’s and 1960’s based on the idea of the owner of the Pastrami restaurant Dóra Prokopp. The design includes elements of contemporary advertisements, comics and magazine illustrations.

Minden Zeng
Everything Resounds

This is the name of a giant painting I have made for the courtyard decoration of Rácskert ruin pub (40 Dob Street, Budapest) in Spring 2014. The picture is 27 meters long and 2.5 meters wide.

Comics on the wall

In Winter 2013 I made the interior decoration of the Rácskert ruin bar (40 Dob Street, Budapest) by wallpapering the entire wall surface with enlarged printed pages of my graphic novel Slussz Kulcs Klán (Car Key Clan).

Design for Kult by Menedék

I made these T-shirt designs and prints for the Menedék (Refuge) Foundation in Summer 2014.

Mosaic Snake

This is my first mosaic artwork. Seeing the mosaic masterpieces of Gaudí in Barcelona in 2002, I was so impressed by them that on return home I started to put together this snake from tile mosaic pieces – on the wall of the toilet…

Mosaic bathroom decoration

... which was soon followed by a wavy floral decoration on the walls of the bathroom.

Slusszkulcs Bar interior
